112th: Marilyn Hacker

Please join us on Tuesday, November 1st at 7pm for an informal talk and reading on translation from Marilyn Hacker, examining texts such as Preludes and Fugues by Emmanuel Moses, Tales of a Severed Head by Rahida Madani, and others! She will be joined by Rachel Hadas.

Marilyn Hacker received the 2009 PEN Award for Poetry in Translation and the 2010 PEN/Voelcker Award for her own poems.

Rachel Hadas is the author of more books of poetry, essays, and translations than she can quite count. Her most recent book of poems, Questions in the Vestibule, is out from Northwestern University Press. She is at work on translations of Euripides' two plays about Iphigenia, also from Northwestern University Press. Rachel is Board of Governors Professor of English at Rutgers-University Newark.
