About the Author
The author has lived a life that by many standards would seem to verge on impossibility. At only 34 years old, he has served as a healthcare specialist and decorated combat medic veteran, served his community as an Emergency Medical Technician for a volunteer first aid and rescue corp, enlightened future generations of Christians through Religious Education as a catechist with his local church parish, helped adolescents and adults recover from psychiatric breakdowns and emergencies as a mental health technician for an inpatient psychiatric facility, committed himself to the future leaders of America as a teacher, brought joy to others through the magic of live theater as an actor and singer, worked as a service professional in a restaurant, and served God as a non-denominational Christian minister - in essence, he has lived a life dedicated to the service of others. But with all the outstanding accomplishments and milestones he has achieved, and among the numerous award and recognitions of excellence he has acquired, he has done it all in spite of the dark and controlling secrets of his childhood; a childhood scarred by repeated psychological, physical, and sexual abuse and neglect which gave way to an adolescent and young adult life riddled with personal torment, aggression, depression, and unhealthy coping mechanisms that led to psychiatric hospitalizations, and disownment from family members. Despite all of this, he has given witness to a life that provides a model of hope for all the outcasts of society, for all those suffering from and acting out upon the pain and hurt of their pasts, for all the adult survivors of traumatic childhoods who feel the constant sting and pangs of loneliness and misunderstanding. In all his sufferings, he has always found an internal sense of purpose and meaning that has allowed him to rise above it all to demonstrate the human ability to persevere under trial and come out victorious and successful.
