Columbus: Queer Book Club discusses "Hotel Living"
Join Queer Book Club on Sunday, July 12th, at 5pm for a discussion with Ioannis Pappos' about his book, Hotel Living at Book Culture on Columbus.
Recalling both the excess of The Wolf of Wall Street, and the drifting narrator of A Single Man, Ioannis Pappos’s debut novel is a portrait of privilege, aspiration, and international finance during the wayward course of the American economy between 9/11 and the 2008 Financial collapse, and is filled with surprisingly tender observations about identity, loneliness, and human connection.
Ioannis Pappos is a management consultant and writer from Pelio, Greece. A graduate of Stanford and the INSEAD Business School, he lives in New York City. Hotel Living is his first novel.
The Queer Book Club meets to discuss queer fiction & nonfiction titles. All are welcome to attend, queer or otherwise. Discussion is expected to run for about an hour, and may include extension into contemporary issues surrounding queer-identifying people. This space may also be used to discuss LGTB activism and opportunities to engage social actions. Respectful, invitational dialogue is expected of all participants. Questions or concerns may be addressed to Tanmoy Das, the facilitator of the book club, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
