Columbus: Uptown Poets Reading
Join us on Thursday, April 30th, at 6:30pm for an Uptown Poets Reading, ft. Miranda Field, John Reed, Victoria Redel, Honor Moore, and Leah Umansky.
John Reed is the author of the novels, A Still Small Voice (Delacorte Press / Delta), The Whole (Simon & Schuster / Pocket / MTV Books), the SPD bestseller, Snowball's Chance (Roof Books / Melville House), All The World's A Grave: A New Play By William Shakespeare (Penguin Books / Plume), and Tales of Woe (MTV Press); MFA Columbia University; writing and multimedia published in the Brooklyn Rail, Paper Magazine, Artforum, Bomb Magazine, Playboy, Out Magazine, Art in America, the PEN Poetry Series, the Los Angeles Times, the Paris Review, among many.
Miranda Field was born and raised in the UK, but has lived on the Upper West Side for many years. Her first collection, Swallow, won a Katherine Bakeless Nason Literary publication Award. Her second collection is forthcoming from Four Way Books. She teaches in the creative Writing programs at Eugene Lang, NYU, and Barnard College.
Victoria Redel's most recent collection of poems is Woman Without Umbrella, her most recent collection of short fiction is Make Me Do Things.
Honor Moore’s most recent collection of poems is “Red Shoes”; her most recent book, “The Bishop’s Daughter,” a memoir.
Leah Umansky is the author of the Mad-Men inspired chapbook, Don Dreams and I Dream (Kattywompus Press, 2014) and a full-length collection, Domestic Uncertainties (BlazeVOX 2013). She is the curator of the COUPLET Reading Series in NYC, and writes for Tin House. Her poems can be seen in such places as Poetry Magazine, and The Brooklyn Rail, among others.
