Anne Sexton reads like a cooler Sylvia Plath (and Plath is already plenty cool). All her poetry is simply magnificent, but this fairy tale inspired collection is my personal favorite.

Ostensibly, this is a book about mushrooms. And it sort of is, but what it truly is at its core is a wonderfully strange meditation on time and memory. Dominique's prose is beautiful and extremely absurd. Ideal reading for David Lynch fans.

Naked Lunch: The Restored Text By William S. Burroughs Jr, James Grauerholz (Editor), Barry Miles (Editor) Cover Image
$16.00
ISBN: 9780802122070
Availability: On hand at one or more locations, see product page for details
Published: Grove Press - July 16th, 2013

A surreal, oft-nightmarish romp through everything "wholesome" 1950s America feared: drug use, homosexuality, and violence. Replete with pitch black humor, Naked Lunch is Burroughs's 'cut-up' technique at its finest.
